Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Usually the same question: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?
Short answer: no. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code doesn't touch it.
The code 128979 activates the bonus program. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. That's all it does.
How much do you get?
Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.
Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. That's for serious capital.
UK accounts start at £160 for £800 deposited. Goes to £11,200 at the top.
Minimum to open an account is $100. But you need $1,000 to qualify for bonus.
The code field isn't obvious
Registration page. Below the phone field, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click it. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.
If the system rejects it, don't panic. Finish signing up. Contact support before funding. Ask them to add code 128979. They handle this regularly.
Bonus withdrawal conditions
There's a volume requirement.
Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. You'd need to trade 2,000,000 units to unlock a $200 bonus. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Active traders hit it quicker than expected.
The deposit belongs to you. Take it out anytime. Only the bonus has the restriction.
One thing worth knowing: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. You can hold larger positions than your deposit alone would allow. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
